Introduction

Thank you for purchasing the 900-110 Syringe Barrel Filling Station. Our syringe barrel filling systems are built and pre-assembled using high quality parts to ensure that your time is spent where it belongs, on productivity. The 900-110 system is built to accept all caulking tube cartridges of 310ml size or (1/10 gallon) or 10 Ounce. You can use pre-filled silicone or sealant cartridges or empty 310ml single use cartridges supplied from us. This user guide will answer most of the most common questions and help you to maximise the benefits from your new syringe barrel filling station. This version incorporates an airline hose to dispenser, pressure retainer reservoir, air cap with gasket, benchtop stand and all accessories required for you to achieve results. Designed for use on a work bench and as part of a production process, we keep the syringe barrel filling process clean, simple and fast. This is a basic system for setup straight out of the box. To achieve maximum performance from Adhesive Dispensing equipment, please read the instructions carefully. First Steps

First: Unpack the shipping box and use the supplied checklist to make sure all items are present. If any items are missing, please contact us immediately. Second: Ensure the area where you are setting up the equipment has access to compressed air. Air pressure should be between 0 and 100 psi (0 and 6.9 bar). We can also provide a high pres sure 5 micron filter/ regulator to ensure that the air supply is clean and dry. If your material re quires a higher level of filter, please contact us or source from a specialist pneumatics supply company. Our filter/ regulator is part TSD800-6FR. A regulated and constant air pressure must be supplied to our syringe filling station. Third: Activate your one (1) year no fault warranty by filling in and returning the postage paid warranty card. Assemble System: Unpack the shipping box and to make sure all items are present. If any items are missing, please contact us immediately. System is supplied pre-assembled to the base. Place the stand on a flat surface/ work bench. Setup

Unscrew cartridge air cap (1) slot in 310ml silicone type adhesive cartridge (2) and replace air cap. Cut sealant tube outlet nipple thread (3) and thread on AD931-296 adapter fitting (4). Turn clockwise and tighten. Use threaded elbow TSD931-3 (5) and attach to (4). Now attached black plastic TSD931-15 or metal AD931-15M fitting (6) to (5). Take an empty luer lock syringe barrel (7) and with the wiper piston inserted to the bottom, twist onto (6).

Attached air tube (8) to a dispenser or to a regulated air supply. Once the cartridge is pressur ised, silicone or sealant material will flow and bottom fill the syringe barrel pushing the wiper piston up as it fills. Use a lower air pressure to start and increase as required. * Please note - new stands are being supplied pre-assembled ready for use.

Setup Continued

Fluid Reservoir: Using a dispenser with 0N/OFF control provides the best solution. The fluid reservoir used is a 310ml sealant or silicone type cartridge. Also referred to as 1/10 Gallon or 10 ounce. Check the shelf life of the material as old silicone will be difficult to use.

90 Degree Elbow: The standard version supplied (TSD918-3) is a natural polypropylene version. Optional nickel plated brass and stainless steel elbows are available as well as black colour for UV cure.

Silicone Tube Adapter Fitting: Standard supplied is a white Acetal plastic type. Stainless steel version also available.

Luer Lock Syringe Fill Adapter Fitting: Supplied as black Acetal plastic or nickel plated brass.

Note: Be certain your plant air is properly filtered and dry. Please use a 5 micron filter part # TSD800-6FR, to guarantee dry filtered air. A regulated and constant air pressure must be supplied to the reservoir filler.

Typical Setup

This system is designed to work with a manual or timed shot pneumatic dispenser for ON/OFF control. Fittings are supplied to connect to most dispensers. Stands are now fixed into the base for added convenience and setup. Spare fittings, barrels, cartridges, syringes and accessories are available from stock. 310ml barrel filling stations provide a clean and air-free method of filling syringe barrels. They are designed for use with most low to medium viscosity silicones, sealants, RTV, compounds. System will transfer to luer lock barrels and wiper pistons used with dispensers as well as manual syringes.

Syringe Barrel Filling

Pressurise the reservoir pressure chamber (15) by turning the knob on your air dispenser pressure regulator clockwise. Adjust to a pressure that is appropriate to the fluid you are filling. Some common settings are as follows:

5psi for lower viscosity fluids 80psi for high viscosity fluids.

Caution: Over pressurising the reservoir pressure chamber may cause the empty syringe reservoir to fill very rapidly with the possibility of fluid overflow. To avoid this start with a relatively low pressure set ting and test. If nothing happens increase the pressure in small incre ments and repeat testing until you optimise your fill time. Locate an empty syringe barrel and the matching wiper piston and in sert the piston to the bottom of the barrel. Attach the empty reservoir to the 90-degree elbow by turning clock wise. Press the foot pedal on your dispenser until material starts to flow and the piston moves up the barrel toward the top. Release the foot pedal when the piston is approx 3/4 up the syringe barrel. Enough space needs to be left so an air adapter can be attached without touching the piston. Remove the filled syringe by turning anti clockwise, attach a tip cap to

the dispensing end and an end cap to the top end. Repeat steps 1 to 7 for your next syringe barrel.

Plastic pistons work best with most materials. If the piston is not pushed down to the bottom of the syringe, an air pocket will appear. All fittings and components are silicone free plastics so will not con taminate materials being used.

Troubleshooting

Problem

Possible Solution

No Fluid Flow

Check that air supply is properly connected. Check air in from mains supply and check air feed from dispenser to syringe filling system. Air pressure is too low. Gradually start to increase the air pressure until material flows. Check all connections to make sure they are secure. Add PTFE thread tape thread to the air connection to assist in sealing. Cartridges are single use only, replace any worn cartridges and plungers with new.

Air Pressure Leaking

Tighten all seals. Add some PTFE tape thread to the fluid connection threads to assist in sealing.

Fill Time Too Slow

Increase air pressure to improve flow rate.

Warranty

One Year Limited Warranty Adhesive Dispensing Ltd (ADL) warrants its product to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one year from the date of purchase. Under this warranty, ADL will repair or replace any defective part or, at its own option, the complete value regardless of fault. To obtain service under warranty, product must be returned, freight prepaid, to ADL. Before use, the customer must determine the suitability of the product for their intended use and therefore customer assumes all risk and liability connected with product’s use. At no time, under any circumstance, shall any liability or obligation of ADL arising from the warranty exceed the purchase price of the product. Except as provided herein, ADL makes no warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. In no event will ADL be liable for direct, indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of use of this product.
